Biology of Aedes aegypti mosquito
Dark color Aedes aegypti mosquito, or dengue mosquito with white markings on the legs and on the thorax, smaller in size, female mosquitoes are longer than males. Females lays egg in summer or monsoon season and can’t survive in winter.
After biting on human, it lays eggs in or near water. After hatching from eggs, larvae feed upon microorganism and algae.
Dengue mosquito bites & active during the daytime, morning or evening times. These can bite during night time as well. Only the females spread dengue virus.
